What's your crystal match? (Seaside Memories Collection)

Yoga Mudra Oracle Reading to find crystal match

Are you finding it hard to decide which crystal to choose? Let this guide help you decide by finding your best match using an oracle deck!

We will be utilising Emma Wertheim's Yoga Mudra Oracle Deck. You can read more about the deck here. It is a beautifully designed oracle deck which teaches you about the ancient wisdom of 'Mudras' - which are sacred hand postures from an ancient yogic tradition.

You might wonder - how does this relate to crystals? Well, both Mudras and crystals are deeply connected to Chakras - which are energy centres starting from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. There are 7 main chakras, and keeping these in alignment provides optimal health. Both mudras and crystals are tools in which we can use to align the chakras and create good energy flow in the body. Each chakra is connected to different regions of your body and when these parts are blocked energetically it can cause issues in day to day life. For example, the Throat Chakra - located at the base of the throat  is associated with expression of speech and communication. A blocked Throat Chakra may cause timidness and the struggle to express thoughts effectively.

Now, how do we know which mudra or crystal to use? Being in tune with your body can allow you to inquisitively know which chakra is out of alignment - which can then guide you to which mudra or crystal to use. However, this generally takes years of practise with energy. For those who are just beginning their crystal interest or simply looking for a present for someone, it can be difficult to know what is needed.

There is another 'alternative' method to get guidance on which mudra or crystal to use. This is by using an oracle deck. Using oracle decks, tarot decks, or other forms of divination is a way to connect with the divine. This may differ depending on beliefs; but it is believed that there are spirit guides who are helping you on your path and with you all the time. Using divination, or knowing how to notice divine symbols & signs can let these spirit guides speak to you and guide you on your path. This is not religious (though it can be in certain perspectives), but more-so an acceptance that there is more to us humans on the planet Earth. It is an acknowledgement of another dimension, that most of us cannot perceive, but simply exists.

And so, by utilising an oracle deck we can draw a seemingly random card - but actually - it is not so random, as you will be picking out a card to you sent by your spirit guides. This will directly lead you to the appropriate crystal and mudra for you. For those with no spiritual belief this could sound completely nonsensical - but no matter what is true or not - these cards are great tools to look into ourselves and reflect from within. After drawing a card and reading the meaning behind it, we can then pair it with a crystal to help with what you are needing energetically right now.

So, enough with the explanation - let's get started! From the following image pick one card. They all may look the same - but, perhaps one stands out to you more? Don't think too long, just follow your intuition!

Remember the number associated with the card you picked.

On the other side of the cards is a collection of different mudras - each with different benefits. These cards were picked intuitively from the deck; it's time to reveal what each card is!

Whichever card/number you have picked is the one calling to you! Each mudra has been paired with a crystal from our 'Seaside Memories' summer collection. Read the following explanations to see which crystal is your best fit!

1. Naga Mudra - Pairing with "Selene" - Moonstone

If you've picked the card number 1, you have drawn the Naga Mudra Card which is paired with 'Selene' - the moonstone collection.

The combination of the Naga Mudra and the Moonstone together provides a very strong divine feminine energy which will encourage you to be creative, calm and compassionate. Perhaps you've recently been surrounded by a lot of goal oriented masculine energy which has been causing an excessive amount of stress. Let go of the charge and embrace stillness.

  • The Naga Mudra is all about strength, intuitive wisdom, the divine feminine and insight. It will help you to solve problems and overcome challenges. To perform this mudra - "With your left hand vertical, move the right hand horizontal and behind it, then cross your thumbs over each other - left thumb on top, palms facing towards you and in front of your heart chakra. Make sure you're comfortable enough to hold this position for a while. Sit straight and feel your breath deepen. Imagine a fire being kindled in your root chakra, with red (passion) and white (purification) or another colour of your choosing. Let the flames flicker upwards towards your heart and even higher, towards your mind. Sense a growing stillness within, then ask yourself a soul-centred question. Be open to receiving answers"
  • Moonstone is connected to femininity and the moon. Associated with the Heart and Third Eye Chakra, it provides soothing and calm energy for emotional turmoil which can peak during the full moon. It helps users look within and then bring new beginnings.

*Note: Feminine/masculine is not gender based, but simply a way to describe two complementary energies, just like yin and yang.

The combination of this mudra and citrine will uplift your spirits, and help you slow down before you begin a new journey of prosperity and fortune. Things might seem a bit dull now, but there is a new light coming forward. Don't give up.

  • The Bhairava Mudra tells a strong message - 'You are enough'. It balances the left and right brain hemispheres, and encourages you to release ego and embrace life as it is. It is a reminder to slow down during a challenging period. To perform this mudra - "Place the right hand on top of the left hand, with both palms facing up. Comfortably rest the mudra in your lap. Alternatively - to experience the feminine expression of this mudra (Bhairavi) - place your left palm on top of the right, both facing upwards. Take a deep belly breath and lengthen your spine"

You have been working hard and it's time to be grateful for what you have achieved. Know that, in the future you will carve out a strong path for yourself, built off your own wisdom and knowledge.

  • The Nirvana Mudra provides simple bliss, freedom and awakening. It reminds you to take a moment to be grateful for life and realise that sometimes you only need a small shift in perspective to live a full life. To perform this mudra - "With left palm facing up and right palm facing down, move your right palm under the left. Now hook (tightly) the little, ring and middle fingers of each hand together (with the right little finger on the outside). Without letting go of your fingers, swivel your right wrist and arm in an upwards arc motion so your right hand draws up and over to the left side. Your fingers should still be interlocked, with the tips of your index fingers touching. The sides of your thumbs press together and face outwards. Finally, bow your head and bring the tips of your index fingers to touch at your third eye chakra. This mudra is best practised slowly, with reverence for yourself and all beings"
  • Lapis Lazuli is a rock that consists of many minerals including Lazurite which gives it the beautiful deep blue hue. It is connected with the Throat  & Third Eye Chakra and has been used throughout history for being a bringer of peace and wisdom. It helps boost confidence, encourages optimism, self awareness & protects against negative influences. For spiritual growth it helps with opening the third eye and channelling spiritual guidance.
